Let’s Fund It contacted St. Gabriel’s by phone to offer a donation towards the fantastic work they do with children with disabilities and their families. Let’s Fund It spoke to Kate Finucane of St. Gabriel’s who was thrilled to accept the help of Let’s Fund It. Kate spoke to Treasa McAuliffe, the CEO of St. Gabriel’s as well as Nicole O’Callaghan, a Speech and Language Therapist and they all agreed that the best donation at the current time would be an iPad.
This iPad would be used to support the children of the centre in a proactive and meaningful way. Assistive Technology is of huge benefit to children with disabilities and Let’s Fund It was more than happy to provide this donation.
A budget of €400 was set and a 10.2″ iPad (65 GB) was sourced and purchased in Currys PC World.
The delivery was completed by Let’s Fund it on Saturday, 20th of August 2022. Let’s Fund It visited the St. Gabriel’s Foundation at their centre in Dooradoyle, Limerick. We met with Kate who gave us a tour of their centre and gave us a superb insight into the work they do.
The total for this donation came to €369.
Gort Cancer Support was established in June 2007 to provide support and practical assistance to people affected by a cancer diagnosis in the South Galway/North Clare area.
St. Gabriel’s provides services to children with disabilities and their families through two Children’s Disability Network Teams (Treehouse and South City), Hydrotherapy, Orthotics and a purpose-built state of the art Children’s Respite House in Mungret.
