Let’s Fund It contacted Hand in Hand on 4th February 2022. Let’s Fund It were greeted by Gillian McNamee who was grateful for the offer of help. She requested hospital care backpacks and began compiling a list of items to be included in the backpacks for Let’s Fund It to source. The full list contained sensory art, neck pillows, headphones, book light, ginger chews, portable mini fans and many other useful items for the patients who deal with Hand in Hand.
Lets’s Fund It set about sourcing these items and were able to source the following items to fill each of the 50 bags:
- Handheld fans.
- Colouring Books.
- Colouring Pencils
- Neck Pillows.
- Toothbrush Holders.
- Over the Shoulder Bags.
- Ginger Chews.
- Touchable Bubbles.
- Multiple toys.

- McTivities for donating fun toys such as Touchable Bubbles, Creeblers & Swirly Squish Balls (150 items!)
- Little Green for donating a range of hypoallergenic shampoos.
- Evergreen Healthfoods donated Ginger Gin Gins
- Flying Tiger Ireland generously offering Let’s Fund It with a 20% discount on all items bought for this donation at their Limerick store.
Lastly a huge and special thank you to the parents of the late Labhaoise Fitzgerald. Labhaoise sadly passed away on the 5th of January 2021 at the age of 17 after a long battle with cancer. Labhaoise’s parents donated 100 books from her beloved daughters collection. These books will be given to the service-users of Hand in Hand and were included in the hospital care bags for the children to read and enjoy.
This delivery was completed on Saturday 7th of May to Hand in Hand in Loughrea Galway.
The total cost of this donation amounted to €785.45, Let’s Fund It’s largest donation to date!
